The Process and How Friedman Lurie Singh & D’Angelo Can Help

You must apply for a visa by making an application to the Australian Immigration Department (DIAC) with supporting documentary evidence, detailed written submissions and paying the applicable fee.

Our Special Services for You

  • All advice to you is given by our lawyers/agents registered with the Migration Agents’ Registration Authority of Australia;
  • Free initial telephone or email advice on the merits of your application;
  • Fixed fee first consultation ( about what you should and should not do);
  • Fixed fee costs arrangements, whenever possible;

Our Migration Division can help you with the following:

  • fully and correctly completing all DIAC forms;
  • identifying and obtaining all supporting documents for your application;
  • identifying any issues in your application, advising you on how to deal with them, preparing detailed written submissions, addressing all legal and factual issues and presenting arguments in respect of any particular problems;
  • advising you on obtaining third party evidence including character and police clearances and medical certifications;
  • certifying (free) photocopies of all original documents;
  • obtaining official translations where required;
  • arranging a valid lodgement of your application at the designated office of the DIMIA (incorrect lodgement may invalidate the application);
  • briefing you on interviews with DIAC (if any) and post-lodgement procedures;
  • liaising with DIAC and other Federal authorities in Australia where required;
  • giving you ongoing advice until a decision is made by DIAC.

What You Should not Do

A visa application is an important application. Errors can seriously jeopardise the result.

As examples, and as a guide, you should be careful of the following:

  • do not breach, even innocently, the terms of any existing visa;
  • do not breach any immigration laws/regulations;
  • do not assume that you can file an incomplete application, and complete it later or send in documents later;
  • do not  leave out any supporting evidence, believing you can send it later;
  • do not ignore any issues and problems hoping that DIAC will miss them.
